The Gilsum Historical Society is an active group of residents and interested folks who are involved in preserving the rich history of Gilsum beginning with the early settlement of the farming community, mills and the industrial time, the mining era and the building of the community we have today. The society owns three properties, The Old Town Hall and Firehouse on Main St, The Blacksmith Shop on Church St (both shown by appointment), and the Isham lot conveniently located way out in the woods close to Pickering Hill. All three locations are loaded with historical artifacts offering an impressive perspective of Gilsum History and its residents.

Some of the events the society participates in include the Rock Swap bake sale, Gilsum Community Dinner, New Hampshire Humanities Council speaker series and the Gilsum Treks. New members are always welcome and the first year is FREE. The museum is open during the summer months and always by appointment and is also FREE.
