Property Tax Information
In the State of New Hampshire, the property tax year runs from April 1st to March 31st.
The Town of Gilsum bills property taxes semi-annually.
Property tax bills are usually mailed in May or June (billed at ½ of the prior year’s tax rate), and again in November (final tax rate).
Tax bills are mailed directly to the property owners to the address on file.
It is the responsibility of the property owner to know when taxes are due.
Property owners that do not receive a bill, please call the Tax Collector’s Office.
If the property owner’s taxes are escrowed, it is their responsibility to forward a copy of the original bill to their mortgage company.
Ownership Change/Address Changes/ Assessment Information
All assessing information and questions are handled through the Select Board’s Office; deeds, assessing cards, maps, abatements, current use, tax exemptions, tax credits, timber, excavation, address changes, ownership changes and tax warrants.
LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOMEOWNERS PROPERTY TAX RELIEF
This 2021 claim must be postmarked no earlier than May 1, 2022 and no later than June 30, 2022.
The Low and Moderate Homeowners Property Tax Relief Form (DP-8) is not automatically mailed to prior year applicants.

NH HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE FUND – apply at HomeHelpNH.org
The NH Homeowner Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to eligible NH residents who have been affected in any way by an increase in expenses or reduction in income as a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis.
